Pellets are small cylindrical or rectangular fuel pieces made from organic materials. Typically, pellets are made from biomass such as energy crops or agricultural residues. Pellets are used as a zero-emission and renewable energy source.

Pellet production is accomplished by transforming waste materials. Biomass is first dried and then ground into a fine powder. The powdered materials are then pressed into pellets using a specialized pressing process. The size of pellets varies depending on the producer and intended use.

Pellets are used for heating and electricity production in charging stations, industry, and homes. Pellet stoves or boilers are the most common pellet combustion systems used in homes. Pellet stoves work similarly to wood stoves, while pellet boilers are used for heating and producing hot water.

Compared to fossil fuels, pellets are a zero-emission and environmentally friendly energy source. Burning pellets reduces greenhouse gas emissions and provides a way to utilize waste materials. Additionally, the use of pellets can contribute to local economies and reduce dependence on foreign energy sources.

In conclusion, pellets have an important place among renewable energy sources. The use of pellets should be encouraged due to their positive environmental impact and their ability to reduce dependence on foreign energy sources.

In this context, Crypto Carbon Energy Inc., one of our subsidiary investments, is investing in biomass fuel production pellet facilities with a total of 90,000 m² and a 1.8 billion TL investment, including 30,000 m² of closed facilities. The reason for this investment is to have a sustainable fuel source available when the installation of electric vehicle charging stations begins. The pelletizing investment, which we started in Konya in the second quarter of 2022, will start production in the first phase in the second quarter of 2023. By the end of 2023, the plant will have a production capacity of 1 million tons per year, and it will be the second-largest pellet production facility in the world by production capacity by the end of the year.

This investment is initiated as a joint venture, and its goal is to reduce energy expenses in our electric vehicle charging station production facility to be established in Turkey, Europe, and worldwide.

As CYCE, we plan to evaluate the tokens we have created in line with the installation and operation costs of the self-energy producing charging stations that we plan to establish in the next 30 years, and then aim to make them more valuable. In this way, we aim to direct energy investments in this direction and accelerate their flow.
